Freelance Visual Artist Opportunities at Art Classes Group
We are excited to announce an opportunity for talented freelance visual artists to collaborate with the Art Classes Group (ACG) on upcoming creative projects. We’re looking for passionate artists who can bring their unique skills and artistic vision to our community-focused initiatives.

Based in the heart of Slough, Art Classes Group (ACG) is committed to making art and culture accessible to all. We offer a range of educational programs, including workshops, lectures, and art tours, designed to engage people of all ages in the appreciation and creation of art. By collaborating with local schools, community centres, and cultural institutions, we aim to introduce art to underserved populations and promote community well-being through creativity.
Our mission is to support visual artists at all stages of their journey, helping them achieve personal and professional goals while contributing to the cultural fabric of our society. Through our educational programs, we foster a space for creativity, well-being, and cultural exchange, striving to make art a powerful tool for positive change.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for freelance visual artists to lead a variety of upcoming workshops, each focusing on different artistic techniques and mediums. If you have a passion for teaching and creating in the following areas, we would love to hear from you:
- Intro to Digital Art
- Sculpture
- Printing
- Mixed Media
Workshop Dates:
- 17th – 23rd June 2025
- 25th February – 3rd March 2025
- 21st – 27th October 2025
- 25th November – 1st December 2025
Dates are chances to vary depending on holidays and bookings.
Scope of Work:
As a freelance visual artist, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading workshops on your preferred artistic medium (e.g., painting, digital art, mixed media, photography, sculpture, etc.), related to the chosen theme.
- Collaborating with participants and staff to inspire and encourage creativity.
- Contributing to the positive atmosphere of the workshops, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for participants of all backgrounds and skill levels.
- Ensuring that all sessions are educational and engaging, with clear objectives and guidance for each participant.
- Commitment to delivering approximately 5 workshops/week, totaling 18-20 hours per week.
Requirements:
- You must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing for ACG to apply for one on your behalf. (Note: no sessions may be delivered before obtaining the DBS certificate).
- A passion for teaching and sharing your artistic knowledge with diverse audiences.
- Experience in planning and delivering creative workshops or activities for various age groups and skill levels.
- A commitment to fostering a positive, creative, and inclusive environment for all participants.
